Highlands, Loch Ness and Inverness

Highlands, Loch Ness and Inverness: the best of northern Scotland in 2 days

This private 2-day tour is designed for anyone who wants to reach Loch Ness without rushing. Your group can therefore enjoy all of Scotland's history, culture, nature and food. In addition, our historian guide turns the trip into a living history lesson, from prehistory to the present day.

Day 1: into the Highlands and on to Inverness

First, we head north towards Inverness. On the way, we stop in a picturesque Highland village with small shops, restaurants and cafés. Then we enter majestic Cairngorms National Park, where, with luck, we will spot deer and birds of prey.

If the group wishes, we can also include a single malt tasting at a traditional distillery, or a guided visit to a castle. On the other hand, if nature is your passion, there are beautiful lochs for a relaxing walk. Depending on the size of the vehicle and the time of year, we will also visit a Neolithic burial site with standing stones. In short, the options are endless.

Day 2: Loch Ness, Glencoe and back to Edinburgh

On the second day, we set off for Loch Ness. There, you can visit the famous Urquhart Castle by boat or on foot (your choice). Afterwards, we continue to Glencoe, the Glen of Weeping, along a spectacular road where you can see the famous Highland cows (Hairy Coos).

Depending on time and the group's energy, we can also visit typical Scottish villages. Alternatively, we can spend the rest of the day at imposing Stirling Castle, built on top of an extinct volcano. Medieval Doune Castle (Castle Leoch in Outlander!) is also nearby. Finally, after another spectacular day in the Highlands, Loch Ness and Inverness, we return to Edinburgh.
