Highlands, Loch Ness and the Isle of Skye
(or the Whisky Trail!)
Highlands, Loch Ness and the Isle of Skye: the best of northern Scotland in 3 days
Three days in the Highlands and on the Isle of Skye
The history of its peoples, dramatic landscapes, the play of light and shadow, unique wildlife, crystal-clear lochs, traditions, food and, of course, whisky! This tour runs at your group’s pace, without rushing. That is why we stop to enjoy the local scenery, try a good traditional dish and savour a dram of single malt whisky.
Most importantly, our historian guide will be by your side throughout. She will therefore explain the fascinating history of every place you visit and the events that shaped this enchanting land.
From the Isle of Skye to Loch Ness
First, we cross the majestic Scottish Highlands, with their villages, castles and lochs. Then we reach the legendary Isle of Skye, with jagged peaks, glens and cliffs that bear the marks of a past of volcanoes and glaciers. In other words, a magical place where legends and traditions blend with the warm hospitality of its people.
However, for whisky lovers, on the second day we can swap the Isle of Skye for the Whisky Trail in Speyside. There you can visit famous distilleries such as Macallan, Glenlivet, Glenfiddich, Strathisla (home of Chivas Regal) and Cardhu (home of Johnnie Walker), among others.
Finally, we pass through Inverness, capital of the Highlands, on our way to legendary Loch Ness in search of Nessie, the mysterious monster of the loch! Meanwhile, breathtaking scenery unfolds before our eyes.
